O.G. Anunoby injury update: Latest news on Knicks forward's hamstring strain ahead of Game 3 vs. Pacers

Luck isn't on the Knicks' side during the 2024 NBA Playoffs, at least as far as injuries are concerned.

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Pacers dealt the Knicks with several blows. First, Jalen Brunson exited in the first quarter due to a right foot injury, though he returned in the second half. Then O.G. Anunoby was sidelined with an injury he suffered in the third quarter.

Anunoby was having arguably his best game in a Knicks uniform, scoring 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting in 28 minutes. The 26-year-old forward sustained the injury late in the third quarter on a fast-break layup.

What is OG Anunoby's injury?

Anunoby went down with an injury late in the third quarter and was ruled out for the rest of the game with a sore left hamstring, TNT's Chris Haynes reported.

New York Knicks say OG Anunoby (sore left hamstring) is out for the remainder of the game.

The Knicks forward fell after a fast-break layup in the third quarter and struggled to get up. Anunoby eventually hobbled off the court on his own, but he exited the game and did not return.

This is a new injury for Anunoby. He had previously missed time with the Knicks earlier this season  due to an elbow injury . New York finished the regular season 20-3 with Anunoby in the lineup.

How long is OG Anunoby out?

Anunoby has been ruled out for Game 3 against the Pacers, per the Knicks' injury report on Thursday.

"Anunoby's sore hamstring is feared to be more than just a cramp," SNY's Ian Begley reported earlier that morning.

Anunoby did not return in Game 2 against the Pacers. New York head coach Tom Thibodeau did not have an update after the game, as he had not spoken to the Knicks' medical team, he told reporters.
