A former super featherweight contender faces off against a fighter looking to become one on May 11. Eduardo Hernandez fights Daniel Lugo in a Mexico vs. Mexico clash, in Mexico, only on DAZN.
Hernandez has fought all over Mexico and suffered the first loss of his career in his second fight in the U.S. “Rocky” had his six-fight win streak snapped in October when O'Shaquie Foster knocked him out in a miracle comeback to retain the WBC super featherweight title. The clash won The Sporting News' 2023 Fight of the Year .
“Rocky” looks to get back on track, and a win against Lugo could erase any doubts.
“People have been counting me out since my loss,” said Hernandez via Bad Left Hook. “On May 11, I will make a statement – ‘Rocky Never Left’.”

Lugo had a 21-fight win streak dating back to 2015 snapped in 2021. He has since gone 3-0-1, with his last fight being a decision draw against Mauricio Lara. It was a close contest that proved he belonged with some of the best in the sport.
“Rocky Hernandez is one of the best fighters in my division, however, I am up for the challenge,” Lugo said. “I know the importance of this fight, a win over Rocky Hernandez will open up many great opportunities. For all the boxing fans that will be watching on DAZN, we will give you a Mexican war.”
The co-main event will see Erika Cruz Hernandez defend the WBA super bantamweight title against Nazarena Romero.
